Global players set the standard in Düsseldorf
“No & Low Alcohol” in focus
“ProWein goes City” with more than 130 events for everyone in Düsseldorf
ProWein Düsseldorf, taking place from March 16 to 18, presents itself as the world forum and trendsetter for the international wine and spirits industry. The global players among the producers set the course for successful business relationships here and present their complete range. In 2025, the focus is also on “No & Low Alcohol” products, which correspond to the spirit of the times and the tastes of the younger generation.
“ProWein shows that it is the industry's reliable trade fair, even in difficult sales times, and that producers can successfully kick off their financial year here. ProWein is and remains the 'place to be' for anyone who wants to score points in international business,” explains Messe Düsseldorf’s Chief Operating Officer Marius Berlemann.
With 4,200 exhibitors from 65 nations, ProWein 2025 will once again be the indispensable order and information platform for international trade and gastronomy. Berlemann adds: “Here in Düsseldorf, exhibitors meet exactly the right trade visitors to secure their sales markets in the future. ProWein's long-standing international orientation and expertise impressively demonstrates this and underpins its outstanding position in the highly competitive global trade fair market. We are very proud that we have been on the market for over 30 years and have developed such a unique networking and sales event.”
Düsseldorf is where the industry's leading experts meet – from sommeliers to buyers and wine journalists. In addition to the exhibitors' offerings, specialist lectures, masterclasses and tastings offer visitors unique opportunities to get up to date and make valuable contacts.
A journey around the world in 11 exhibition halls
ProWein 2025 will take trade visitors around the world and inspire them with its diversity: 11 exhibition halls with the comprehensive country presentations of Germany (Halls 1 and 4), Portugal (9), France (10), Spain (11), Italy (15 and 16), Austria and Greece (17) as well as the regions of Europe (9), New World (12) with, among others, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, USA, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay will present the “Who's Who” of the industry. Halls 5 (ProSpirits) and 7 (same but different) will also inspire with established and well-known spirits brands, while numerous newcomers will show their colors here with new creations and flavors. One of the hot topics of our time will also be in focus at ProWein 2025: “No & Low Alcohol” is taking up more and more space. Proxy wines as non-alcoholic alternatives or de-alcoholized, grape variety-typical wines are the trends of the year here.
The perfect match: food and wine at ProWein – master chefs inspire with new creations
This year, ProWein is putting a special focus on the topic of food & wine pairing. The Gastro-Lounge urban gastronomy by #asktoni is not the only area dedicated to the topic. The diverse supporting program also picks up on the perfect match of wine and food in various formats. In four different workshops every day, host Toni Askitis (#asktoni) will be entertainingly demonstrating how food and wine can be combined to create unforgettable taste experiences. The three top restaurateurs Alina Meissner-Bebrout (cooking on Sunday, March 16), Björn Freitag (Monday, March 17) and Bobby Bräuer (Tuesday, March 18) will, for example, be creating exciting dishes live at ProWein for the first time. “The topic of food and wine pairing offers enormous potential for the wine and gastronomy industry, as it goes far beyond the simple presentation of products. It combines the sensory world of food and wine into a harmonious whole that evokes emotions and creates unforgettable experiences. This art of combination is not only an enrichment for the guest, but also an important distinguishing feature for companies in a highly competitive market,” says Peter Schmitz, Director of ProWein.
”ProWein goes City” with more than 130 events for everyone in Düsseldorf
The North Rhine-Westphalian city on the Rhine and the people of the region also benefit from the ProWein trade fair. After work, visitors can move from the big world of wine and spirits to the local gastronomic scene. Düsseldorf boasts numerous wine shops, wine bars and restaurants, which become hotspots for the industry during ProWein. Under the motto “ProWein goes City”, more than 130 special events with wine, spirits, enjoyment and culture will take place throughout Düsseldorf around the trade fair. In this way, ProWein also has an impact on the city and can be experienced by trade fair visitors and Düsseldorf residents alike. Whether exclusive tastings or relaxed get-togethers – the whole city celebrates wine. “This makes ProWein more than just a trade fair: it is a real experience for anyone who loves and lives wine and spirits,” says Peter Schmitz enthusiastically.
