At the end of 2023, the renowned Hochschule Geisenheim University conducted an extensive survey of experts in the global wine industry on behalf of ProWein. This was the seventh survey of its kind, which aims to comprehensively analyse the value chain in the wine industry.
More than 2,000 insiders from the wine world were surveyed, including leading winemakers from the prominent wine regions of Europe and overseas, as well as wine export and import experts, wine trade specialists and representatives of the catering and hotel industry.
The report uses data from the ProWein Market Barometer, a globally recognised data series on the wine industry that has been in existence since 2017. The latest industry report not only highlights the current challenges in the wine world during economic uncertainty, but also presents workable solutions drawn from the expertise of leading industry experts.
