Here, visitors can explore a wealth of high-quality organic wines from all around the world that not only delight the palate but also are produced in harmony with nature and sustainable principles. More than 300 international producers, importers, exporters, and relevant associations highlight the increasing consumer interest in sustainable, eco-friendly, and natural wine options. Thus, ProWein serves as a platform for quality and premium wines, contributing to raising awareness of organic wines and promoting their presence in the market. Environmentally friendly packaging also aligns with this philosophy to optimize the entire product life cycle. The shared vision: reducing the ecological footprint and promoting sustainable practices in the wine industry.

To the products and exhibitors
The selection of recyclable, biodegradable, or reusable materials as well as the minimization of packaging waste is essential for sustainable businesses. While traditional wine packaging in glass bottles has a timeless charm, it also presents ecological challenges. A promising alternative is recycled glass bottles. By reusing glass, the energy required for production is significantly reduced. Another approach is the use of lighter bottles, which require less material. This not only reduces the weight of the packaging but also decreases energy consumption during transport. Lighter bottles thus contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and minimizing the ecological footprint of the entire supply chain. Furthermore, there are also more experimental approaches: These involve alternative packaging materials such as Tetra Paks or bag-in-box systems. These lighter, space-saving options are not only more environmentally friendly but also offer longer wine shelf life after opening. Tetra Paks are made of a recyclable cardboard composite, while bag-in-box packaging often contains reusable bags and requires less packaging material. Manufacturers also recognize the value of materials such as PLA (Polylactic Acid) or other plant-based resources, which easily decompose and do not burden the soil. These sustainable materials provide a particularly eco-friendly alternative. All of these options and many more can also be discovered at ProWein. In Hall 9, a variety of exhibitors present exciting innovations in packaging and design.

It is evident that not only organically produced wines are a major trend topic, but also sustainability is becoming increasingly important on many other levels. The search for nature-friendly alternatives shows that the industry takes its responsibility towards the environment seriously and is willing to explore innovative paths. By integrating sustainable packaging alternatives and producing ecological wines in harmony with nature, wine producers can not only meet the growing environmental demands but also promote consumers' awareness of environmentally friendly consumption, thus making a positive contribution to global environmental protection.

Discover Nature! In Hall 4, a variety of organic wines, natural wines, and organic wines await: Organic viticulture impresses with diversity and enjoyment. This is what awaits discovery at ProWein. The selection ranges from crisp white wines to powerful well-aged red wines and fresh rosé variations, offering the palate an exciting range of taste discoveries. Whether sweet, semi-dry, or dry wines, whether from major producers or smaller companies and producers, including wines from traditional production or spontaneously fermented masterpieces: At ProWein, it's all about exploring the international range of organic wines. In particular, the trend of spontaneously fermented wines has gained popularity in recent years. Consumers are increasingly opting for spontaneously fermented wines due to growing interest in natural and authentic wine experiences. These are produced using wild yeasts naturally present on the grapes and in the environment. This approach contrasts with the addition of cultivated yeasts used in conventional wine production.

It's great to see a trend towards natural and minimal intervention in the winemaking process, reflecting a growing interest in high-quality and environmentally friendly practices. In addition, we've noticed that more and more consumers are seeking out wines that are free from additives and chemical interventions. Spontaneously fermented wines are a great fit for this sustainable demand, as they typically require less sulphur or other additives.

Natural wine, which falls under the organic wine spectrum, places an even greater emphasis on authenticity and originality. With minimal intervention by the wineries in the winemaking process and an emphasis on natural yeasts, we create wines that reflect the terroir in its purest form. Working with nature

For more than 5000 years people have been cultivating vines and pressing wine. The winegrowers work in and with nature; their wines represent the region of origin and the work of the winemakers. Today many German wineries are producing according to the guidelines of organic viniculture, certified by the EU regulations for organic farming. Their wines are of high quality, the cultivation methods preserve the fertility of the soil and promote the diversity of flora and fauna.
